Hello Readers,
So much in the movies, with the writer's guild striking... I saw American
gangster. The beginning was slow, then finally picked up. I also saw Into the night, it was way better than I expected.
Enchanted is my new favorite Disney flick, so cute and clever. I give this one two thumbs up!
I also saw This Christmas, it was very cute indeed.
Nothing Oscar worthy yet.
Maybe 3:10 to Yuma???
Michael Clayton...

I have three blogs sorry I neglected this one
Hello Readers,
Well, I am embarking on new journey... I still love the movies and saw Stardust, my new favorite right behind The Princess Bride, and Rush Hour 3. Stardust has it all.... Pirates, magic, witches, spells, a fallen star, a princess and true love, mixed with humor and schtick, a new fave I tell you.
Rush hour three was so funny! Let me tell you my fave line. "There's a height requirement, like on the matterhorn" Plus great fighting and stunts another fun yet crappy film.
Well here's my life... I again find myself in the whole quandery of dating. I am seeing an awesome man, yet, I think I like him more than he likes me... He's so Hot!!!! I told him so. It's like a dream to even think that he likes me... I mean really.
Alrighty... thats the review and an update. This is silverplatters signing off...

Breach
Well movie fans...
I only am going to review Breach. I did not see 300. It seemed too much for me. Breach was somewhat anticlimatic because we knew he was going to get caught. I spent a lot of time wondering if the actress playing Ryan Phillipe's wife was the actress he cheated on Reese for. So I was slightly distracted. Laura Linney was awesome and the actual guy must have been super smart to catch the man who betrayed the CIA and FBI. It seemed almost like he was ready to be caught.
That was it, we are doing the LFYP this weekend, so until next time, this is silverplatters signing off...

A lot to review... And My Oscar pics were right!
Hello...
Well in today's blog I review Zodiac. This was a very entertaining film. Robert Downey Jr. is suberb, as he should be. I loved his character. He brought himself into it very much. According to my friend, this movie was almost parallel to the book, so that is good. It compelled her to want to read the second book. It is so scary because the man never was caught, and the people all working the case are now retired. It was great.
I also saw Bridge to Terabithia, I loved it. I read the book, and it gets the gist of the book. The girl who played Leslie looks like Keira Knightley. She is so cute. It is a tear jerker so bring tissues.
Reno 911 was funny, stupid and sexual, but the typical gags. Rental.
Babel was not that good, don't waste your time. I am so glad Martin Scorsesse won. That's all I have to say about that.
Well I got all that typed... we'll see you at the movies.

Catch and Release, Last King of Scotland, and Because I said So...
Hello,
I really enjoyed Because I aid so, I almost peed myself laughing so much at the dog. Diane Keaton has three daughters and desperately wants her youngest daughter, played by Mandy Moore to meet someone great and get hitched. While Diane is doing this, she meets a love interest and comedy insues. I found it cute and funny. Way better than most romantic comedies.
Catch and Release was a downer, but Kevin Smith and Juliette Lewis made it worthwhile. I really could not get into the movie too much, being that I have never been engaged, and was never tight with my exes friends, except once and that sucked. Anyway, more of a rental.
The Last King of Scotland was amazing. Forrest Whitacker does an amazing job of pulling off playing one of the scariest dictators in current times... I really liked this alot. Basically, a physcian comes to Uganda as King Amin is rising into power, they become friends and the drama that rises is insane... the killings and the war and the genocide. A must see...

Stomp the Yard and Night at the Museum
Hello Readers,
Stomp the Yard was good. It needed more practices though and less story. The thing with the dance movies is that we need no story and more moves. It was however a testament to black history and the people who fought for human rights. I know MLK's birthday is this weekend, and this movie honored him quite well.
Night at the Museum was one of my most favorite kid's movies. I like the whole idea of the creatures coming to life. I have a thing about that. Things coming alive and time travel...
Well golden globes are coming. prelude to the oscar's. That's all for now... This is silverplatters signing off...

Movies and movies
Hello readers,
This is a review of The Children of Men and Freedom Writers. The Children of men was based on a sci fi book where the people could no longer have babies. It doesn't really go into the why this occured, and now there is a woman who is pregnant who can bring peace, but that is never resolved either. A lot of loose ends makes this movie a C. I reall wanted to see more of Julianne Moore's character, she really is only in 15 minuted of the entire movie. Rent it or wait for HBO.
Freedom Writers was excellent. First of all, it takes place in Long Beach, CA. Second, the teacher is from Orange County. So immediately, I relate to this on a plethora of levels. It's a basic story about being a stand and believing in people. The teacher Erin, knew what was important and bonded with these students. It was a great heart warming film. I give it a B+.
I am taking a side direction here for a moment, I saw in this film, freedom writers how a relationship can go downhill if not nurtured. I just really found that without the same core values, marriages end.
Just a note...
So in all....
The Departed
Blood Diamond
The Queen
We Are Marshall
Marie antoinette for set and costumes
Best Actor/ Supporting
Leonardo Di Caprio
Forrest Whitacker
Will Smith
Matthew McConaghey
Eddie Murphy
Matthew Fox
Best Actress/ Supporting
Jennifer Hudson
Helen Mirren
I haven't seen much else.
