Harry Potter was a sad movie... I guess it was like Goblet of Fire's highlights. Nothing was really explained, and there was much more going on than the movie could show. Oh well... wait til video.
Rent I liked it, I realized there was way more background in the movie. Angel was the best!!!! And Mimi, well, she needs to practice a little more, but her body was hot!!! I need the Rosario Dawson work out video. I was inspired to take stripper lessons.

Movies for Nov.
Hello readers!!!
I saw a few movies this week... Good Night and Good Luck. Directed by George Clooney!!! Oscar, hello, this was amazing. Done in vlack and white, I felt as if it were real. Very well done. It's about Ed Murrow going against Joeseph McCarthy in the 50's. way good.
Then I saw Walk the Line. Reese pulled it off. I loved their singing. Joaquin was expected to pull it off which he did. Tyler Hilton, dude I was listening to him on the Mark an Brian radio program. Good work.
Ok Pride and Prejudice awesome. I am owning this one. Kiera Knightly is the best.
Bee Season... very sad, but well done. I just do onto think Richard Gere should play a Jewish person, but that's just me.
Last, I saw Capote I really liked Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He pulled it off. I liked this movie, it did move a little slow. So that's the review. This week Harry Potter!

The lord of War, Flight plan
hello my favorite readers:
Here we are more movies... The Lord of War was another one of those, can't support guns because of Africa killing eachother. It was again very poignant and yes, I am starting to detest the American government for not stating the exact truth as to what is happeneing over in these other countries. So see the movie and know you will think twice when you hear about combat in Africa.
Flight Plan was mindless entertainment. I liked it. The ending was a little lame. But te movie overall was enjoyable. It was better than The Forgotten, and that's what I was expecting. So I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway, for mindless enjoyment, see this one.

The constant gardener, transporter 2, emily rose, and the asylum
Ok saw the exorism movie... I thought it was really well done. I totally believe in posession now. That is some scary stuff. She basically was either possessed by satan, or really mentally ill beyond a reasonable doubt.
The constant gardener was way cool. I felt that Rachel Weicz put on an exceptional performance. and now I will not buy pharmaceuticals from anywhere but tersted in the US. I know its not real, but I swear it was based on something. Oh well, see the movie. It was a thinking movie.
Transporter 2, great martial arts. That's it!
Uh the Aylum, this was so weird. Let's just say, I see why it was an independent film. She, Natasha Richardson, was nuts. The asylum guy, was kind of hot. Ian McClennan nuts. The whole movie= crazy. Wait til video.

Traveling, Red Eye, and 40 year old Virgin
Hello readers, I was traveling again, this time I saw the Pacific Northwest the oregon and Washington coast lines were so beautiful. Then, I ventured over the Canadian border to Vancouver. It was amazing and beautiful. Highly recommend it. Trip highlights: Mt. St. Helen's and the Goonies house. Let me tell you, it looked exactly the same.
Now the movie review. Red Eye: I loved it. Wes Craven made a thriller, and it wasn't that graphic. Good plot, good story, and yes Rachel McAdams, a fine good actress. Hopefully we'll see more of her in the future. I liked how it seemed one way from the trailer and then completely different in the theatre.
Last, The 40 year old virgin. Can I just say this... I love Seth Rogen. He is mega hilarious and real. Dude you are so dead pan, I love it. He goes in my Kevin Smith section, dude I just want to chill with you, you seem so cool. This movie was over the top, but totally done well and super funny. Good work.

Four Brothers and Skeleton Key
Hello friends and readers....
Four brothers was an urban take the law into your own hands drama. I really liked it. I found it had a lot of comedy, drama, and a great twist that was very interesting. I really enjoyed Tyrese Gibson, he is a great actor.
Skeleton Key was another great movie. It was not I expected. I expected something a little more psychological. This was a good movie, just a different ending. I loved Gena Rowlands, she played a scary elderly woman. Oh well, that's all from here...

Penguins, sky high and stealth
Hola movie goers... I saw some good stuff this week. After my trek to Vegas, I spent a little R and R with Stealth... War games meets top gun with a little terminator. I really do not like Jessica Biel all that much, but I could tolerate her in this movie. There was however a part, where I was ready to shout " Play Tic Tac Toe" But only my brother found that humorous.
Sky High was so cute. Ultimate disney. I like the hero thing. Good plot twist, I'd like a sequel. That's about all I can say about that.
Last, March of the Penguins. I am buying this one. This is a documentary for all to enjoy. Every teacher needs to show this to her class. It's a winner. Penguins are so very cute.

The Island and wedding crashers
Hello there!!!!
The island was great. I am afraid of cloning now, cuz this movie did such a great job of showing what happens if you were cloned. Basically Ewan Macggregor and Scarlett Johannsen were terrific. And, Steve Bucemi, I loved this guy. It was fabulous see it!!!!
Wedding crashers, funny Vince Vaughn great, and Isla whatever the chick who played Gloria fantastic. This is so funny. I laughed the whole time except during the conflict part... It was as good as Old School. See it, just leave th pre teens at home. They can wait awhile.

fantastic 4 and charlie and the chocolate factory
Hey hey what do you say??? Um Fantastic four is a kid's movie, and i am a big kid, so I enjoyed it:) I really like the human torch character. I loved Cole,( sorry pal type cast.) And Jessica Alba is hot for the guys to drool over. The story was basic, but it was told, the Thing was rad. I liked his whole 30 minute struggle, and plastic man was the typical good guy. A great no brainer.
Charlie and the chocolate factory for boys. Not enough songs, i really thought these kids were boring, and who cares about Charlie. Willy Wonka was the star. A good remake, but just that. A remake. See it to beat the summer heat.
The Island is next and some other stuff....
Back to Vegas too... I'll keep you posted.

Hawaii
Hola Readers!!!! Or should i say Aloha
I just spent a glorious week in Hawaii. Three days in Oahu at the Chinese Mandarin and 4 days on the Big Island at The Mauna Kea... Life is sweet!!! I have pics, but sorry no movie review. My pschotic ness is brewing. I predicted two things. Luther Vandross's death and My friend since fifth grade contacting me. Chris seriously on the same wave as me as usual. Anyway... Batman Began, The perfect man exists
Hola faithful readers...Batman began... Let me tell you this movie was sooooo good! I love Christian Bale, he is like a machine. I swear, there stone cold acting worked in this one. Katie, was Katie no big woop. And Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. Put them together and they are even cooler! Basically its the story we all know set up by Darkhorse Comics... and just made into a live action film. See it!
The Perfect Man is a great mother's day film...ooops, I think they flubbed on the release date! Still really cute and Hilary Duff is a cute little actress. Heather Locklear is gorgeous as always and can pull of f any role. I really liked her as the desperate single mom, cuz yeah that would never happen in real life. One thing I really liked was that hillary's character Holly, had a blog!

Graduation, movies and such
ok im an MS now... My goodness Cal state has a sucky long graduation. it was 4 hours too long.
But, I saw some good flicks. I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. If you can get over all the teenage girls there, its a cute movie. I cried like 3 times. It was good.
Madagascar, szzzzzzzz. I liked two parts. Wait til DVD or bring a kid or two.
Lords Of DogTown! Great. I really liked this. It was a lot like the documentary. I did not even recognize Heath Ledger. And Emile Hirsch, what a great job!
Finally Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Cute plot twists and an enjoyable movie. I liked the shoot em up thing too.

STAR WARS III
Hello devoted readers... Here is the latest on the hoopla with Star Wars. It is not as good as the originials IV, V, and VI. It is better than I and II. Basically if George Lucas only made this movie, I'd be fine. I just wanted to see that whiny bitch Anakin turn evil. I did not care about him at all. And his wife, jeeze could it get any cheesier. Without spoiling the movie, Yoda's rad. The Emperor is radder, and the return of James Earl Jones is raddest. We should have turned Anakin a long time ago.

Kung Fu Hustle is the comedy version of Crouchnig Tiger. If you liked the mystery the martial arts and the story of Crounching Tiger, you will love the humor and fun of Kung Fu Hustle. Set in China during a time where Mobsters rule we meet a young man who was condemned by good. He wanted to join the Double axes, a gang of China with 200,000 members. They go into a town where the landlady's crazy and find a surprise. The rest is sheer Chinese Martial arts genius. What an exciting story!
I highly recommend to any Martial artist.
I saw Kingdom of heaven, i fell asleep. These epic war movies look so much better in previews. Orlando was not such a whiny bitch as he was in Troy, but still a snoozer. Rent this however before seeing Alexander. Alexander really blew.

More Movies
Hey faithful readers...
Lets see, I've seen a lot. I saw, A lot like Love. This was a lot like crap. I thought Amanda Peet's performance was lame and flat. This reminded me of serendipity which was crap. I did however see Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy. This was better. It had the classic British humor. I totally dug this one. I still know the answer to the world, the universe, and everything. The book did not fit into this movie. The screenplay was written by the author of the book. So that's good.
Uh, did it follow the book...? Well since i ead the book the book in fifth grade, I 'll say yeah pretty much. It was funny though.
Triple X... I like that blow stuff up stuff, can Ice act? not really, but who cares, they blow up a house, the capitol, a train, a truck, a lot of crap. See it to see where the money went.

Movies in NYC
Hello all!
I just returned from NYC. It was so relaxing. It's nice to go somewhere I have been before and just see what I want to see. Since my last post I saw Sahara, Fever Pitch, and Amityville Horror.
Sahara: See my review of National Treasure... Same thing basically.
Fever Pitch: I love Drew, she plays a neurotic 30 yr. old architect who falls for a 30 yr old Red Sox Fan. It was so cute. It is definitely a chick flick.
Amityville Horror: Remake Scary scary. I liked the babysitter, she was insane. THe thing about movies in NYC is you can get meals there. I really like that. Here in Cali, there's only crap like hotdogs and nachos. In NY you can get chicken fingers and pizza.
Way better.
Hey movie fans, I got my tix for Revenge of the Sith!!!
I am stoked...! George hopefully, you'll do it and have fans screaming for episodes 7,8,9!

Sin City
I loved this movie. It reminded me of Four Rooms, but more Kill Bill. It was a great adaptation. I felt like the comic book did come alive. See it, if you hate Quentin Tarantino do not see it. It reeks of his directing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. That was all I saw this weekend!!

Review of The Ring 2 and Miss Congeniality 2
Hola Readers,
In today's review, I look at the world of sequels and why they suck so bad. Well, the thing about sequels holds true, it is not as good as the first. Movie industries know this, they just want ot make $$$ off of schmucks like me. So The ring two, lame, lamer, lamest. I had a few jumps, like I am afraid of Deer now, but it was ok til the end. The end was lame, like they ran out of ideas and money and said, lets end it like this... Stupid.
In the next review we look at Miss Congeniality 2, on its own an ok movie. It was cute, but I am not going to be running out to the video store to pick it up. So you can wait on this one til it comes out on cable. I am glad I only spent $5.50. That's all from here. I'll see you at the movies this is Silverplatters signing off.

Movies for you
Hola I am here for you to review Hostage and Be Cool. So, Hostage was ok. Kevin Pollack was knocked unconcious for about 45 minutes. Did not like that. The chick lame actress. Mars dude pretty cool. Action 10 suspense 8 acting 4. overall 7. It's probably better to see on video.
Be Cool aka Get Shorty 2. I liked Get Shorty, so I liked this. I liked the movie within a movie thing. And Sethy had a bit part!

Oscar
Hello fellow movie goers...
Tonight was the superbowl of movies and my review of that as well as, my review of Million Dollar Baby and Cursed. First, Chris Rock: he was funny:) It was great having a "black man" host the oscars. I loved the whole White Chicks bit, and he was not too shocking. "Oprah's so rich John Kerry asked her to marry him."
Then we have the awards Morgan Freeman, Congrats... I really wanted him to win. It was a overall work award.
Cate Blanchet: She was terrific, and I loved her speech. Cate won for Kate :)
Hilary Swank, I cried... I had no idea she was a trailer park girl!!! That's a rags to riches story.
Jamie Foxx, we knew you'd win. Nice work! From In living color to Academy that's another rags to riches story.
Well with that I'll review Million Dollar Baby.
I was actually surprised this flick one for Best Picture. It has a controversial part, I guess the academy is getting Liberal in these times. I felt personally that The Aviator was a stronger movie, but I am not on the academy. So there's my 2 cents.
Next I saw cursed. This is not Oscar material, but hey, it was Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven doing their thing. If you liked Scream 1,2, and3 see it :) It's that kind of movie. You never know who did it. I was way off. Oh and there are many stars. Scott Baio, Joshua Jackson, Christina Ricci, that chick from 13 going on 30, the mean one. Craig Kilborn, and much, much more.

Well with that I'll review Million Dollar Baby.
I was actually surprised this flick one for Best Picture. It has a controversial part, I guess the academy is getting Liberal in these times. I felt personally that The Aviator was a stronger movie, but I am not on the academy. So there's my 2 cents.
Next I saw cursed. This is not Oscar material, but hey, it was Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven doing their thing. If you liked Scream 1,2, and3 see it :) It's that kind of movie. You never know who did it. I was way off. Oh and there are many stars. Scott Baio, Joshua Jackson, Christina Ricci, that chick from 13 going on 30, the mean one. Craig Kilborn, and much, much more.

Sorry Time slipped away
Hello my readers... (There are spoilers)
I have not blogged in a long time. I still watch a lot of movies, I just forgot to review them for my fans. Let's see...Assault on Precinct 13... Super predictable, but enjoyable. I really liked Ethan Hawke in this flick. He needs to do more movies.
Hotel Rwanda, probably the best movie for 04-05. Don Cheadle's performance was amazing. See this and your life may be changed forever.
Kinsey. Sex. That's it. Laura Linney does a great job, shes got my vote for best supporting actress.
The wedding date, chick flick, but cute. I read a review on it, its got a C, yeah thats about right rent it :).
Hide and seek, lame. Saw it it was called secret window, or fight club... pick one sorry if you wanted to see it, but I warned you.
Hitch, funny and Will Smith is hot. Kevin James has a great delivery, Kevin, a personal question for you...Why so good on screen, yet in person, not so funny?
Constantine, I liked it, it was like Blade only with demons. And, Keanu was not so Ted esque, you know what I mean... Anyway, good job Keanu you brought some devil's advocate meets Neo to this one.
Boogeyman, sucked. I wished it was more like Beautiful mind, where Russle Crow was insane. Yeah just pure cheese. I did jump a few times though.

Sorry Friends
Hey, It has been a hectic month. I did see a lot of movies. My boyfriend broke up with me and that sucked. It really is a pain trying to find the "right" guy. The book, you know, the Bible for women and dating? Yeah, it is right on the money. I asked this guy out in late August, a huge no, no, and look four months later, he wants to see what else is out there. Because I am not, cute enough, smart enough, sexy enough, whatever. So definitely the next guy I go out with has to be into me and make the first move. Then I have to worry about being played. Wow, this relationship thing is not what it's cracked up to be. Ok moving on movies for 04- 05: Phantom of the Opera: It is just like the play, the play is slightly better, better live vocals. Meet the Fockers: See it Barbra nails the role of the Jewish mother. White Noise: do not see this ever, it was too scary. Electra: Jennifer Garner kicks ass, it is short so plan accordingly. In Good Company: Not as sappy as I thought. I was actually glad, since I got dumped, I thought that it would be a bad idea, not true. I really enjoyed it, and it had a good ending. I am sorry I have not written, but I was busy. And now that I am single once again, I need my devoted readers to get out there and set me up!!! Only kidding, slightly. So have a great week, and I'll see you at the movies, or a club.
