Shall We Dance and SAW

Ok I am here to report on two movies seen this week. First, Shall we Dance... Now I did not want to see this one at all. I hated the original, I actually fell asleep during it, so I only saw about two thirds of it. So this version, which was in English was a lot better. Probably because I did not have to read the whole thing. Richard Gere is still hot after all these years and Jennifer Lopez still cannot act, but that's my opinion. It's a great dancing movie, so if you liked Center Stage and Dirty Dancing, you'll like this one two. Enough said.
The next movie was Saw, this was a psychological thriller. I loved it. I love Carey Elways, and in one scene I was ready for him to say, "Drop your sword." But I digress, this movie finds Carey Elways locked in a basement with some other guy, why? They do not know, anyway, they later discover the Jigsaw killer has put them there and they have to solve the riddle to escape. It was great with flashbacks. The use of the timing was well done, and the audience gets a sense of the characters. It was gorey, and I kept my eyes shut during a lot of parts, but still a great flick.
Next week I'll review some other movies so until then this is silverplatters signing off.
Oh a real quick shout out to Beejayeak! Congratulations again!

The Grudge, Team America, and Turning 30

Hi all!!! Thanks for logging in, it's time for my fabulous movie review. This week was The Grudge, aka The Ring, so yeah, too much like The Ring. It was good, but the typical Japanese story. People get killed in Scared to death fashion, people keep going in the house and dying, and nothing ever gets resolved, the end. The other problem was the pg-13 rating, that sucked because I had to watch this movie with a bunch of 14 year olds, who screamed at everything including a black screen. So, see it just wait until the later showing.
Team America World Police, F-Yeah!!! This was the funniest. Puppet Sex, Puppet puking , and Puppets blowing up the world in the name of The U.S. . To protect the world from terrorists... It was hilarious. I loved it a lot of 'F' bombs, and pornographic puppet sex, but well worth it!!!
Last, I am turning thirty, what comes up are all the shoulds, I should be married, I should have a house with a fence, and I should have 2.5 kids. Well, I don't and I am ok with that really. I just noticed it is all. The biggest bummer of turning thirty is that I am sick! Oh well call me and wish me a Happy Birthday. :) This is silverplatters signing off.

Sick as a dog plus review of Friday night lights

I am sick... and it sucks. Now, I chatted with a bunch of you and no, I am not Pregnant. Geeze, give me a break. I threw up at school then I went home and threw up there. I talked to my friend who went with me to Hearst castle and Monterey and just two days earlier, she threw up. So there, I also was thinking that I never get a flu shot and this year when there is a shortage, I get the flu. Go figure.
Ok so back to the movies. Friday Night Lights... I really do not like Billy Bob Thornton. It was an ok movie. Believe it or not, I felt it needed more football games. They only show three season games and the final state championship. But, this story could've taken place in Mission Viejo at Capo. In fact, Capo was CIF champions in 1990, the team players were local heroes. I remember they played at Angel stadium that year. Anyway, this movie is ok. I just do not like Billy Bob, so go see it. He may be up for an oscar. Tonight, I get to see Team America and The Grudge, that review is coming soon. Take care, and I'll see you at the movies...

Hearst Castle and Monterey

So I spent four days and three nights on a road trip with my pal. It was so great traveling with her. She was so chill. That's the great thing with people they usually are chill. Anyway, we left for San Simeon on Thursday, stopping at Camarillo. Hello, I made a killing there. I bought so much for myself there... Yeah, and the peeps I was shopping for. They made out even better than I did. So, we shopped then left for Monterey. Oh my Gosh, that drive took way longer than I had expected. It was only an hour and a half to Camarillo. It was another 3 hours to San Simeon, and around 5, major amounts of fog rolled in. Remember that fog in San Diego? Yeah, like that. It was pretty scary.
Well, we arrived in San Simeon at around 8. But, it felt like Midnight. We ate dinner then crashed around 11:00. The next morning was foggy, we left at 9:30 after breakfast in our hotel. We drove up to Hearst Castle, man that place was foggy. When we got to the visitor's center it was so gloomy. Well we drove up this windy hill on a tour bus, and got to the top safely. It was amazing, let's just say, no clouds on that hill... I loved it there. Yeah, can I be rich and build my home on some deserted hill overlooking the Pacific? So we did that, where I chatted it up with a fellow Democrat from OC, which is quitee rare, then left for Monterey.
Monterey was amazing. It was such a cute town and my friend's auntie took great care of us. We chilled and walked, saw the aquarium and had a fun, chill time. Then we drove 6 hours and got back to Mission Viejo. Let's just say, if my Hawaii fantasy can't happen. Monterey is next on the list.
Anyway, I am out. Thanks for reading. I'll catch you later. This is Silverplatters signing off.

Movie Review and comment on Real OC

So I saw another movie today, that otherwise I might have passed by. First Daughter with Katie Holmes... Oh my gosh, this movie was sooooo sweet. I cried like three times. It's that sappy teen angst thing. It was so well done I want to own it. The lead guy is HOT. And yeah, how much do I love Michael Keaton. The thing about this movie was that it was not predictable. I really like Katie Holmes in movies. She just sucked as Joey on Dawson's Creek. So I recommend this movie for chicks and for guys who like chick teen angst. That's all from here...
Oh wait on a completely different note: I was watching the "real OC" yeah and I know two people on that show. Trey the lead weird guy, yeah him and his friend Polster. Dude I so know Loren Polster... He was programmed in my phone for Christ's sake. But, yeah my oc movie is waaaaay different than that show. Laterz

Ladder 49 and why Regal sucks an editorial

So in today's exciting report, I am reviewing Ladder 49 and telling the public why Regal Theatres suck. Ok so I go a movie at 8:00. It is playing on the GS (giant screen) I did not know this prior to purchasing my ticket, and the 8:00 time was the only time that really worked for me and my friend. I ask for the ticket and give them a Regal club free movie ticket... They would not accept it. Then I give them a free Regal movie ticket purchased from an outside source, they would not accept it. Then I give them my credit card and my student ID. Again, they would not accept my student ID. What the hell is their problem? Are they not making enough money? Are they too stupid to know that the customer is always right? I realize I should have fought harder. I see that I could've just said that I want to see a different movie. But that is not the point. The point is this, just give a me a friggin' discount when I ask for it. And do not pull some bs line that you cannot accept anything but cash for a movie. It makes us very bitter. And now, I really want to screw Regal and movie hop to four movies in one day.
Anyway, Ladder 49 was good. It was not the best movie of the year, but it goes through the life of a firefighter. We get to see the trials and tribulations of a firefighter's life with a wife and kids. I was sad that it was predictable, but regular movie goers will enjoy it just the same. Let me say, I was not surprised in any of the scenes, but the rats were gross. Anyway, Regal sucks so movie hop. Until next time... I'm signing off.

Shark Tale

Shark Tale is the latest movie viewed. I really liked it. The voices were great!!! The animation was flawless... and, such a cute story. Adults and kids will both like this movie. I took a four year old and he liked completely different parts. I enjoyed the spoofiness, but I usually do. I just loved the whole NYC spoof, and the fact the Will Smith character was so Fresh prince... anyway
well, until next time...

Being Played

Ok what is it with guys? I have now been played 4 times... and I do not like it very much. What is it? Will you please tell me? Ok, here are the four scenarios:

Scene 1: there's this guy significantly younger than me. We meet, we flirt, we exchange numbers. This guy has a girlfriend, but has made it abundantly clear that he's interested in me. We do the deed, then he "realizes" that he loves his girlfriend and was using me to get back at her... Not so nice.

Scene 2: There's a guy on a cruise ship. He is clearly playing the entire ship. He hooks up with different women every night. Finally on the final night he apologizes and I continue to correspond via email. When he comes out to visit it's amazing. I visit him and still amazing. He then "realizes" that he really has feelings for some other girl and I was just sex and movies....again not so nice.

Scene 3: Another guy, I met in someone's garage (yes, this is my fault) He said he liked me, we hooked up twice, never heard from him again.

and drumroll please...

Scene 4: Again a guy who "seems" interested. He got what he wanted then things "suddenly come up" (Brady Reference).
Guys quit playing games, I am a done deal... If you do not want to hang with me tell me outright. I'll delete you. Instead, I linger for about a week and, then it's unpleasant for us all. So for the future, tell me what you want, and if it's not me tell me immediately. Thank you.
